To mark the 75th anniversary of the first launch of the Royal Navy ship, we bring you a gallery of photos of HMS Belfast
This Sunday (St Patrick’s Day 2013) will mark 75 years since HMS Belfast was first launched in 1938.
Ordered by the Admiralty in 1936 and launched by Anne Chamberlain, the wife of Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, HMS Belfast is the last surviving Second World War Royal Navy ship of her type and is now permanently positioned on the River Thames, between Tower Bridge and London Bridge, and operates as a family museum.
There will be a host of activities to celebrate this important birthday on 16 and 17 March, click here to find out more.
