The London Boat Show is to carry the name of UK asset manager Schroders for an undisclosed fee from its next edition onwards.
Robert Braithwaite, the current chairman of National Boat Shows, says that the deal to rename the event as ‘The Schroders London Boat Show’ is “a fantastic agreement which provides us with a global, high profile partner committed to investing in the show’s development. This is a complementary partnership between two leading brands.”
Massimo Tosato, Global Head of Retail and PLC Director for Schroders, said, “This sponsorship deal gives us an excellent national and international platform to enhance our brand in today’s rapidly changing competitive environment.”
Both parties say the sponsorship package is for a “significant” sum but refused to release figures. NBS says the deal gives it the ability to expand and diversify the show over the coming years, as well as to increase investment in it and in the British marine industry.
The Schroders London Boat Show will be held at its traditional venue of Earls Court on 2-12 January 2003 before moving to the new ExCel exhibition venue in London Docklands for January 2004.
