Peter Little and David Arthur from Oxford pummelled the competition at the Cowes Classic over the August bank holiday weekend
Peter Little and David Arthur from Oxford pummelled the competition at the Cowes Classic over the August bank holiday weekend to collect the fourth World Two Litre offshore title of their racing career.
Driving their Batboat, City Offshore, the pair led the first of the three round contest only to be forced out when their craft was swamped by heavy waves in the western Solent. The battle was then taken up by powerboat designer Adam Younger in Mobil 1 Outboard who became one of only six finishers, 13 retiring through stress of weather.
With conditions moderating, City Offshore went on to win the next two round by a wide margin to secure the championship by a margin of 50 points over Thomas Wrenkler from Sweden.
The meeting also included the Class II (8 litre)European Championship and the Honda Four Stroke series.
