Windy weather and choppy seas prevented a passage to Fecamp, but there was fun to be had on the beach....
Thursday 22nd June
Day 13
Position – Port Deauville
It was a really early start for those aboard Calm Voyager. At 0500hrs the alarm clock went off and by 0530hrs Calm Voyager had slipped and exited the lock, hopefully on course for Cap d’Antifer to review the sea conditions.
After a few miles it became clear that a passage to Fecamp today would be too uncomfortable for the fleet and Calm Voyager came back into port.
With another day to kill, a beach games party formed. A game of ‘MBM Rules’ Rounders, was followed by an energetic few games of beach volleyball. Matt also demonstrated his skill in the surf with his newly acquired skim board (see picture). It is expected that there will be a few sore limbs in the morning.
Tomorrow the weather is looking better for a move to Fecamp. Calm Voyager again will head out first, this at a more reasonable time of 0800hrs.
