Duchess of Cambridge's choice of sailing jacket sends thousands to Musto's website
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge caused an internet meltdown over the weekend when thousands of people rushed online trying to buy the sailing jackets worn by the pair on a day out in New Zealand.
The royal duo were photographed each wearing a Musto BR1 Channel Jacket while racing around Auckland Harbour in a couple of America’s Cup yachts during their tour of the country.
The immediate interest was such that Musto’s website was forced offline and stocks of the BR1 jacket started to dry up.
CEO of the company Nigel Musto said: “The BR1 jacket was the ideal choice for Kate and William and our phones have been ringing off the hook since they were spotted wearing it.”
Musto’s links with royalty run still deeper, as the company is the holder of two Royal Warrants of Appointment to supply outdoor clothing to the The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh.
Musto added: “We’re incredibly proud of the Royal Warrants we hold and it is always an honour to see members of the Royal Family sporting our clothing when they need to be protected from the elements.”
