In MBY July 2017 we review the Jeanneau Leader 33 and Bavaria E40 Flybridge plus we have the second part of John Boyle's Norwegian adventure
The July 2017 issue of MBY has as diverse a selection of tests that you could hope to wish for, from the brilliantly packaged Jeanneau Leader 33 to the intriguing Bavaria E40 Fly and the truly outrageous Boston Whaler 420 Outrage.
We have the sensible sportscruiser, the sedate displacement cruiser and the fabulously expensive, quadruple-engined flagship of the Boston Whaler range. Nich Burnham’s video on the latter is well worth a watch.
We also have a round-up of all the hottest new launches this month in the New Boats section and, in Boat Master, Hugo heads to Sweden to try out Humphree’s new electric stabiliser solutions.
In the ‘How To’ series we get to grips with Med-style mooring and in the Our Boats section we welcome a new contributor with a Marex 310 and Piers du Pre fits some beefed up aerials to his Fleming.
On the Used Boat front we look at four eighties classics that can be had for a bargain and we get up close and personal with the Broom 35 Coupe to see what it’s like as a secondhand buy.
The cruising section is packed this month. Peter Cumberlidge selects three sun-blessed European ports in close proximity to the Channel that would make ideal sunshine boating bases and we hear from Nick and Sandy Trotter who built their dream boat to cruise the inland waterways of Europe.
In northern Europe, John Boyle and his Princess V39 face fearsome conditions as they see the other side of Norway and we have a wonderful tribute from Alan Harper to the late, great Carlo Riva.
Enjoy the issue.
