Shelley Jory, the Southampton based powerboat racer, raced away with five records from Power Boat Record Week on Lake Windermere.Ê
This is the 34th Year of Windermere Record Attempts, an event that attracts top competitors from all over the country. Sponsored by Portsmouth-based marine electronic manufacturer Raymarine,
Shelley and her co driver and partner Pete Berrow, pushed the Honda Formula 4 Stroke 225hp power boat Team Raymarine to the limit to win the class race.Ê Buoyed up by their success, Jory and Berrow then took the winning position in both the 2 hour and 3 hour Endurance races, beating all the other competitors in these gruelling long distance events.Ê Finally, the Endurance record set by Shelley Jory at last yearÕs event remained untouched, leaving her the holder of the V24 1, 2 and 3-hour endurance records at the end of the 2004 event.
Shelley Jory was one of the few drivers who drove for the full three hours and was the only female competitor to take part in the whole event.Ê
