Anticipation builds for bank holiday boat show
The annual three-day Barclays Jersey Boat show takes place in the island’s capital St Helier over the bank holiday weekend of 3-5 May. Organised by Jersey Marinas on behalf of Ports of Jersey, the show is expected to attract more than 30,000 visitors and is the largest free-entry event in the Channel Islands. Exhibitors will include Windy, Broom, Fairline, Sunseeker and Aqua Star.
Still in Jersey, from 7-9 June the island becomes a stopover for the Venture Cup London to Monte Carlo Powerboat Race. It’s the first time that Jersey has hosted the event, which is expected to attract 35 ocean-class powerboats from around the world. When the fleet arrives it will have completed the first leg of the two-week, 2,750-mile race that started in London. Visitors will have the chance to see the fleet close up, and enjoy the atmosphere in the Venture Cup village in St Helier marina.
