The London Boat Show proved that 50 is the new 60
Princess started it all with the gigantic V52 that debuted at Southampton Boat Show, now Jeanneau’s Prestige 500S and the Fairline Targa 50 Gran Turismo have added to the notion that 50ft is all the sportscruiser you’ll ever need.

Both boats have three cabins and offer up very special master suites. Being hardtops they also come with luxuriously appointed saloons that can open up to the sun or stars and bags of head-turning style.
The Jeanneau’s main USPs are a £500,000 price tag, courtesy of small but apparently workable 430hp IPS-600 engines and a superb master cabin with its own private stairwell from the saloon.
The Fairline comes in at a heftier £630,000 but that includes 575hp engines and a ridiculously well appointed interior. A forward master cabin similar to the award-winning Targa 58 comes with a wonderfully sneaky en suite, the layout allowing the two guest cabins to sit comfortably either side of the stairwell below decks.
The Targa’s onboard intricacy might not be for everyone but it’s hard not to be impressed by the sheer design effort on show.
