New berths, homes and facilities are all part of the multimillion pound plan
Extra pontoon berths are just one part of a multimillion pound scheme to upgrade the Isle of Wight’s Island Harbour Marina.
The marina, located 1.5 miles from the centre of Cowes, will also benefit from a new 50-tonne travel hoist, lock mechanism, boat repair facility and boat storage under the plans put forward by new owners of the site Island Harbour Holdings Ltd.
“The redevelopment will totally transform this delightfully peaceful marina which is set in a secure location in some of the most beautiful countryside on the Isle of Wight,” the firm said.
Also included in redevelopment are plans for almost 50 new luxury homes and a bistro-style restaurant. Each new home will come with a 10-metre berth. The houses available in the first phase are expected to go for between £380,000 to £460,000.
Work on the site is expected to be completed by early summer 2008.
