Chemring acquires marine electronics company By IBI Magazine / Ed Slack Chemring Group has announced the acquisition of ICS Electronics, the Arundel based manufacturer of commercial and recreational marine electronics products.
ICS Electronics designs and manufactures communications equipment used in the commercial and leisure marine sector.
This includes radio communication systems, satellite communication terminals, weather facsimile and satellite systems, and coast radio stations.
The ICS business will form part of the Chemring Group’s marine business, which is based at McMurdo, in Portsmouth. The ICS product range compliments McMurdo’s marine safety products, which includes satellite distress beacons, search and rescue transponders, personal location devices, man overboard location systems, VHF radios, and Universal Automatic Identification System (UAIS), a new communication and identification system for commercial vessels.
