Thames Valley Police work to identify body
An investigation is underway after bones were
discovered aboard a burnt houseboat.
Police were called to the Oxford Canal in Wolvercote,
Oxford, just a short distance from Godstow Lock, on Friday night.
Thames Valley Police said that despite the severity of
the fire, it believes that the remains are human.
Detective chief insp. Andy Bird, said, “We have been
working closely with the fire service to establish the full circumstances
surrounding how the fire happened and now believe that the boat could have been
alight since around 2am Friday morning.”
