Royal Navy's newest and most advanced warship will be open to show visitors for two afternoons
Next month’s PSP Southampton Boat Show will play host to HMS Dauntless, the Royal Navy’s latest and most advanced warship, it was announced today.
The Type 45 Destroyer will be at the show for three days from 12-14 September, with visitors allowed on board for two afternoons.
Commissioned in June this year, the ship is considered the most advanced of her type in the world, and was built to provide air defence to an aircraft carrier.
Andrew Williams, MD of National Boat Shows, said: “The fact that show visitors will be among the first to set foot on the new ship is a very exciting prospect and a real coup for the show; we’re looking forward to the buzz that her arrival will bring to Mayflower Park.”
Ship visiting hours:
Sunday 12 September: 1.30pm – 5pm
Monday 13 September: 1.30pm – 5pm
HMS Dauntless will depart the show at 3pm on Tuesday 14 September.
