Historic ship open to the public again following six months of closure
After six months of closure following the
collapse of the public gangway in which two people were injured, HSM Belfast
museum ship will open again this Friday (18 May) at 1000.
HMS Belfast press office spokesman told MBM
the reason it has taken such a long time to open again was to ensure future
public safety. “For obvious reasons safety checks had to be carried out on the
new gangway and this took a long time to complete. The ship is now ready for
her opening on Friday and we look forward to welcoming visitors once again, and
enjoying a busy season to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, and the
Olympics.”
