Competition to find "redneck yacht" overrun
You might think marketing an event at local rednecks could produce an adverse reaction.
Not so with the Savannah Boat Show in the US, where organisers got it plumb right with a contest to find the best “redneck yacht”.
The contest was overrun with entries and visitor numbers at the show boomed.
Votes were cast online, with the winner taking home an outboard-powered Carolina skiff with the outboard cover autographed by country music star Craig Morgan (pictured).
And Craig himself was on hand to explain first hand what exactly a redneck yacht is, through his popular song Redneck Yacht Club.
