Genmar boat company Glastron, which has claims to have built nearly 350,000 runabouts to date, is introducing a 8.36m sports cruiser with forward and aft cabins.
The Glastron GS 279 is a trailerable cruiser capable of top speeds in excess of 40mph. It has a single-level FRP floor with seating for up to nine people. There is a fully-configured instrument panel, automatic bilge pump, tilt steering, walk-through curved glass windshield, ski tow ring and moulded swim platform with telescopic boarding ladder. Engine options are Mercury MerCruiser sterndrives at 5.7 and 6.2 litres, or 5.7 litre Volvo Penta sterdrives.
