Galeon 500 Fly snapped before Cannes show debut

The Galeon 500 Fly has hit the water ahead of its Cannes Yachting Festival debut, and it looks just as striking as the initial renders suggested

Polish manufacturer Galeon Yachts has given its latest model, the Galeon 500 Fly, a sea trial off Gdynia in advance of its debut at next month’s Cannes Yachting Festival (September 9-13).

The new arrival features a number of striking new features, including fold-down side decks that create an enormous open-plan cockpit.

These can be folded up when underway to allow for safe and comfortable fast cruising on the Galeon 500 Fly’s planing hull.

What’s more the rear bench seat revolves around through 180-degrees to offer great views astern, whilst also concealing a tender garage beneath. Up at the bow end, the sunpad can be converted into a pop-up dining table.

Engine options will include Z-drives and pod-drives, thus freeing up more internal space for overnight accommodation.

All of these features were revealed in early design renders and it seems that they have been successfully translated into the finished boat.

As well as exhibiting the Galeon 500 Fly at the Cannes Yachting Festival, Galeon Yachts will be making its return to the Southampton Boat Show next month (September 11-20).
