Visitors to the event at Portsmouth’s Watersports Centre can take a free spin on a 7.8m Ballistic RIB and sample a wide array of watersports
The second annual Bike4Bart charity event is kicking off this weekend (April 27) at the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation’s Portsmouth Watersports Centre.
As well as the main cycling event to raise money for the Andrew Simpson Foundation, the watersports centre will be hosting free taster sessions for those looking to get out on the water.
They will include sailing, windsurfing, stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking (ages 5+), as well as the chance to take a 50-minute blast on Sunna, Boat Club Trafalgar’s 7.8m Ballistic RIB. Up to 7 people per trip will be taken on a 400hp blast around Langstone Harbour.
Other attractions include a sailing simulator, yoga sessions, live music, locally-brewed ales and a charity raffle. The day culminates with the prize-giving, which will be hosted by Sir Ben Ainslie, who helped set up the Andrew Simpson Foundation in memory of his former America’s Cup crewmate.
Proceedings kick off at 10:30am and visitors are encouraged to book their taster session in advance on the Bike4Bart website.
