Join in the festivities to celebrate the completion of the three-year Heritage Lottery funded project to impove the area around Foxton Locks
From 14-15 June the Foxton Waterways Festival promises a ‘feast of fun watery activities’, free for all the family at its attractive setting on the Grand Union Canal near Market Harborough in Leicestershire.
There will be a number of historic boats on display, trip boats to help visitors make the most of the tranquil waters of the canal plus lots of entertainment and refreshments to celebrate how the area has been improved to meet the needs of all waterway visitors.
The three-year project has included the restoration of the upper canal arm and lower basin, installation of a viewing platform over the inclined plane, which has been cleared of trees and reprofiled to its original form, plus refurbished footpaths.
