The German builder has followed up on the success of the Deep Blue 46 by applying the same design and styling to a 28-footer
We had hoped that Bavaria’s tie-up with BMW, a partnership that delivered the stunning Deep Blue 46 , would bear fruit across the range but we didn’t think it would happen this soon.
This new Sport 28 from the German builder has clearly inherited the 46’s beefy, gunboat-like hull design, a feature that is designed to deliver maximum interior space as well as look mean and sporty outside.
Its size and style mean the 28 is bound to be compared with Sealine’s current SC range, but only time will tell if this new German sportscruiser will prove as well thought out or popular.
The interior layout includes a separate double berth mid cabin with what is being touted as a class-leading toilet and shower compartment. On deck it is interesting to see the builder has opted for a fixed sunpad instead of open cockpit seating – a layout that proved unpopular with owners on the Bavaria 30.
No pricing information is currently available. The Bavaria 27, the boat the 28 is to replace, was priced from around £80,000 with a single diesel engine. The 28 is due for launch in September, suggesting that it will be exhibited at the Southampton Boat Show.
