New teaser shots give an initial hint as to how the Princess S72 will look
A handful of teaser images releasesd today give us the first clue as to what the new Princess S72 is going to look like in the flesh.
The pictures are a mixture of close-up detail shots showing the forward hull windows, sporty helm seats, the detail of the inteior panelling and the dresser in the master cabin.
They don’t tell us much that we didn’t know already but the detailing in the interior is typically lavish and the mix of grey wood and stainless steel in the cabins add a cool, modern edge in a classically understated way that only Princess can do.
The S72, which will make its debut next month’s Miami Boat Show and is part of a new S Class range from the Plymouth yard, uses the underpinning of the V72 to create a new form of hybrid sportscruiser/flybridge.
The idea is to give the double-deck decadence of a flybridge with the sleek looks and performance of a sportscruiser.
Performance is a big selling point of the S72 and will separate it from from its flybridge relative and with the largest twin MAN 1,800hp V12s it will hit an impressive 38 knots at full whack.
Even with the entry level MAN C32 1,622hp lumps it will comfortably manage 35 knots and fast cruise at 30.
Motor Boat & Yachting will be one of the first magazines in the world to get on board the S72 for a drive at the Miami Boat Show, so look out for the report soon after.
With an 80ft version in the pipeline for 2015 and (hopefully) two smaller ones further down the line, we’re looking forward to seeing how this new range takes to the market.
