The boat to lead the Jubilee Pageant to be presented to the Queen
At a cost of £1,000,000 to build, the 94ft (28.6m) Royal rowing barge was launched on the Thames at Isleworth, south-west London, last week.
Local boatbuilder, Mark Edwards of Richmond Bridge Boathouses, has been working around the clock since the project was commissioned in November to get her ready.
MBM visited Gloriana on Sunday in Richmond, where security guards kept curious members of the public at bay, allowing the workmen to continue to fit her out.
Since the launching, teams of carpenters and shipwrights have been working solidly to get her finished ready to be officially named by Her Majesty the Queen during the opening of the Cutty Sark tomorrow.
Watch out for tomorrow’s update online from the naming ceremony.
