The Fairline Targa 53 Open will be available from spring 2016
The covers haven’t even come off the new Fairline Targa 53GT, due to be launched at next week’s Southampton Boat Show, and Fairline has already announced an open version of the boat – the Fairline Targa 53 Open.
Using the same hull and power trains as the enclosed saloon model, this open-backed version is angled at the Mediterranean market and other territories that enjoy a warmer climate.
With the large sunroof peeled back the Open will feel just that, making that cockpit into the perfect warm weather entertaining space.
The area is balanced between dining, forward-facing seating up front and a good slab of sunpad aft, atop the tender garage.
Below decks, like the coupe version, customers will be able to choose between two or three cabins.
Shaftdrive engine options are the same as the GT but the Open could be slightly more sprightly thanks to the reduction in weight and Fairline estimates a full loaded top speed of 30 knots and a fast cruising range in excess of 300 miles.
Perfectly demonstrating the latest trend in mid-size boat building, the 53 is available with either a gyroscope or fin stabilisers as an option.
The first boat will hit the water in spring next year.
