Fairline’s CEO Derek Carter says that there will be no imminent sale of the company
Fairline’s CEO Derek Carter has spoken out publicly at the London Boat Show to say that the company is still “absolutely” under ownership of 3i.
Carter made the comments as he launched the
Targa 50 Gran Turismo, the latest addition to the Fairline fold.
Carter was responding to speculation following the news in November that the private equity firm behind the company, 3i, was in discussions with financial advisors over its “strategic options” regarding the brand.
Carter said, “There will be no imminent announcement and there is nothing to speculate about. I wouldn’t be surprised if we were still in the same investment portfolio in the next two quarters.”
The Targa 50 is a brand-new boat for Fairline and Carter said that it fits as much in its 50ft as most 60-footers do.
Key features include panoramic windows and the option of an open-air living space as the powered roof glides open to create an al fresco dining area to the saloon and galley. The 50 also includes a tender launch system.
The Targa 50 is joined at the show by the Squadron 58, an extended version of the Squadron 55.
