Fairline recruits more staff to keep up with orders
Fairline has launched a recruitment drive after a surge in sales following the London Boat Show. CEO Kevin Gaskell, who was appointed the position just before the 2013 Southampton Boat Show, said Fairline has been able to offer previous employees jobs now that orders are backing up until late 2014.
The Oundle-based company said that it will hire up to 38 new employees across its factories to help with orders.
Gaskell has said in a statement that he is excited about what the future holds for Fairline, adding: “We are delighted to be recruiting for roles across the factory and have been able to approach previous employees.”
Fairline believes that its surge in sales is due to its new 48ft range, including the Squadron 48, Targa 48 Open and the Targa 48 Gran Turismo, which was launched at the London Boat Show a few weeks ago.
Fairline has been sold several times in the last decade and made 95 staff redundant in 2008 and a further 250 in 2009.
