Over 50 firefighters are currently battling a fire at Falmouth Docks in Cornwall following reports of explosions
Fire broke out at Falmouth Docks shortly after 8am this morning amid concerns that a number of acetylene cyliners were at risk of exploding.
There is currently a 300-metre exclusion zone around the site and police are advising people to stay away from the dock area and obey any road diversion signs.
Devon and Cornwall Police said, “This is a fast moving situation and we do not have the full details and extent of this incident at this time. Residents living near the docks are advised to keep doors and windows closed.”
Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service said that 56 firefighters are currently trying to bring the fire under control using six pumps.
