The new Beneteau MC5 at the 2013 Düsseldorf Boat Show
Beneteau launched the first of its Monte Carlo flybridge range, the 50ft new Beneteau MC5 at the Dusseldorf Boat Show. Spectacular design includes wave-piercing looks and theatrically over-sized ports.
Bénéteau has made massive strides on fit and finish with this boat, borrowing design elements and materials from the award-winning Monte Carlo Yachts range, the three-cabin interior comes with textured oak cabinetry, leather detailing and high-gloss locker doors.
On deck a glorious hi-spec flybridge includes a carbon-fibre helm seat and twin-domed radar arch, the cockpit comes with chunky stainless steel doors, a pull out canopy and a deep, comfortable lounger.
Power comes from IPS 500 or 600 pod drives with speeds of between 25-29 knots quoted, with Bénéteau making some confident noises about the hull’s mid-range efficiency.
