Europe’s first Maritime Day
Europe’s first Maritime Day will be held on 20 May to celebrate Europe’s maritime heritage and future and highlight its maritime activities. The European Commission hopes that the day will in future years launch a maritime week of festivities and maritime-related events throughout the EU.
Events being held in the inaugural year will include the Week of the Sea, a key maritime event starting on 24 May in the Netherlands, while two days later Plymouth will host the IRS Yachts area championships and the City of Plymouth remote control racing model Grand Prix.
