Organiser pulls the plug on East Coast's only boat show
The Lowestoft Boat Show is no more.
Its organiser, Graham Kinnersley, told MBM he had liquidated his events company County Exhibitions and was retiring.
“Last year’s show was a success, but I’m 70 now and I’ve had enough of the pressure. I’ve had several people telling me they’d be sad to see it go,” he said.
The first Lowestoft Boat Show ran in 2004, and enjoyed moderate success as the East Coast’s only boat show.
But hassles including health and safety and insurance became too much, Kinnersley said.
He added that he had made the decision to stop running the show in the middle of last year, and has since been trying unsuccessfully to find someone to take it over.
