The Classic Motor Boat Association in conjunction with the Motor Boat Museum at Wat Tyler Country Park, Pitsea, Basildon, Essex will be holding a dry ‘on-shore’ rally of classic boats in the grounds of the museum on Saturday and Sunday 23/24 March. Many small vintage motorboat and runabouts dating back to the thirties and earlier will be on show. Several have been fully restored while others on display will still be undergoing restoration. Therefore, although not a fully-blown boat jumble, items sought by those owning vintage craft of this type will be changing hands between enthusiasts. Advice on identifying vintage craft together with details of their builders and other history should be available from members of the Classic Motor Boat Association in attendance. Admission both to the museum and rally will be free to members of the public. The event opens from 10am on both days with free car parking locally available.
