Cockman and Phipps win championship ahead of final race
Despite a poor start in the opening round of the Honda Formula 4-Stroke finals in Douglas. IOM, on Saturday, Drainstore.com driven by Jak Cockman and Andy Phipps, last season’s Rookie’s of the Year, have taken the 2008 150hp championship regardless of the outcome of today’s (Sunday) final heat.
“There was confusion with some of the boats over which buoy to go to at the start which put us back a few places, said Cockman. But things evened out and we managed finish second. I was really pleased to hear the news we had won the championship although it won’t feel official until we are standing on the podium. I have my Mum and Dad to thank for my success and also my brother Mark along with team Negotiator and our sponsor Drainstore for all their help.”
