A seven-day celebration of the Thames is to be held in a bid to encourage more people to get out boating this summer
Discover Your Thames Week
From 11-19 July, dealers, hire operators, marinas and boatyards along the River Thames will come together to take part in a new event, Discover Your Thames Week.
The aim of the event, organised by the Thames Boat Trades Association, is to remind people just what makes the Thames a great boating destination, from the historical buildings that line its banks, to the wealth of waterside pubs and restaurants that you can moor up at.
During the week-long festivities there will be lots of freebies and discounts on offer, including unlimited launching at Penton Hook and Windsor marinas for boats up to 26ft. Meanwhile Val Wyatt Marine is offering three free months berthing with any new Viking or Interboat sold, and there will be lots of opportunities for those new to boating to get afloat.
There will also be lots of prizes up for offer, details of which will be updated on the Visit Thames website over the next few weeks.
