David Beckham’s Olympic speedboat up for auction

David Beckham’s Olympic speedboat is expected to go for £250,000 when it’s auctioned in Surrey next month.
 
The successful bidder will get to keep the smoke-emitting rockets, high-pressure waterjets and dozens of LED lights that were added when the boat was customised for the Olympics opening ceremony earlier this year.

It’s been estimated that 900 million people watched Ice Marine’s Bladerunner 35 carry the Olympic flame along the Thames this summer.
 
The boat will go under the hammer as part of a classic car auction at Mercedes-Benz World Brooklands in Surrey on December 3.
