Plymouth will host the opening round of this year's Class 1 world powerboat championship.
Class 1 world powerboat champion Steve Curtis from Southampton will open his title defence in front of thousands of home supporters in Plymouth.
The Devon city will host the opening round of this year’s Class 1 championship, with subsequent events in Norway and the Middle East.
The Plymouth event on 17 July will see 13 of the dazzling craft take to the water.
Curtis, who will be with his new team mate Bard Eker in Spirit of Norway, is chasing a seventh world title this season after his long-term driver Bjorn Gjelsten retired in January.
Also on the water will be British owner/driver Chris Parsonage, who has brought in the 1999 Class 1 world champion Randy Scism on throttle duties in Negotiator.
