Organisers of the British Leisure Show have unveiled plans for an inspiring free Boat & Leisure Festival in Cowes. It is designed to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and will take place over the Jubilee bank holiday on Monday 4 June-Tuesday 5 June 2012.
Attractions will include a display of some of the finest British-built yachts and motorboats, an exclusive preview of teams racing in the 2013 Cowes – Monte Carlo Powerboat Race, a fashion parade, and a range of outdoor leisure activities. Berthing for visiting boats will be available in Cowes Yacht Haven marina, while those travelling on foot or by car will benefit from special mainland ferry rates from Red Funnel Ferries.
James Brooke, Festival Director said, “Cowes has to be the venue for such an occasion, given its historic links with our monarchy. It’s a perfect venue for an overtly British-themed event.”
