The Grand Prix of Malta, takes place on May 12-13 with 16 confirmed entries
The eagerly awaited Grand Prix of Malta, the start of the 2006 UIM Powerboat P1 World Championship, takes place on May 12-13 with 16 confirmed entries which includes many of the world’s top racing boats and pilots.
Grand Harbour of Valletta will once again provide the backdrop for the first two World Championship races; an Endurance event on Saturday May 13 incorporating the round-the-island speed challenge and a shorter race the following day which utilises a circuit off Sliema Promenade specially designed to maximise spectator enjoyment.
The P1 teams will be based at the Viset Waterfront, where a festival atmosphere of a major international contest will be much in evidence.
Both races will be supported by an action-packed programme of on-and-off water activities, including a series of additional races within the Grand Harbour itself.
