North Devon coast could get new 250-berth marina development in the shape of Northam Marina
Torridge District Council’s planning committee is meeting today to decide the fate of the proposed Northam Marina development.
With some 250 berths and 295 houses, the Northam Marina project has been held up in the planning stages. A meeting at the council offices in January saw speakers for and against the application put forward their cases in front of some 100 people, with the council unable to make a decision at that point.
The marina would certainly be a welcome addition for boaters, with this section of the north Devon coastline featuring just a few small drying harbours for more than 100 miles.
Plans for this development also include a care-home, school and medical centre.
