MDL Marinas has handed out its annual MDL in Bloom awards, with Cobb’s Quay Marina in Poole taking the top prize
Marina staff across the country take great pride in their floral arrangements, and once again MDL Marinas has acknowledged their green fingered prowess with its annual MDL in Bloom awards.
For 2015, the MDL team assessed a wide range of marinas from its broad network of sites across the UK and the overall winner was Cobb’s Quay Marina in Poole.
The South Coast facility (pictured above) scooped the overall prize, as well as the category prize for Best Hanging Baskets and the X Factor award.

David Wilson, manager of Cobb’s Quay Marina, said: “The team work so hard to make sure our marina always looks its best and is a clean, tidy and pleasant place for our berth holders to enjoy. This has inspired us for next year, when we hope to take home as many prizes again.”
The Cobb’s Quay Marina team picked up their award and gift voucher prizes at the recent Southampton Boat Show.
Other marinas to be honoured included Shamrock Quay in Southampton (pictured below), which won the Best Tubs and Containers award.
Mike Glanville, group head of operations at MDL Marinas, added: “Across our marina network we have a diverse collection of open and green spaces.
“Some marinas have large and beautifully landscaped grounds, others have small but equally immaculately presented outdoor spaces which have been transformed using hanging baskets, tubs and containers packed full with wonderful floral displays.
“Special recognition must go to the team at Cobb’s Quay Marina for their outstanding effort this year.”
