Sophie Ellis Bextor and The X Factor's Olly Murs and Stacey Soloman have all done the honours, so who will open Southampton this year?
TV journalist Dawn Porter and former They Think It’s All Over presenter Nick Hancock will officially open the PSP Southampton Boat Show in Mayflower Park on Friday 10 September.
Fresh from sailing around the south coast of England for ITV1’s recent All At Sea series, Dawn and Nick will cruise into the Show’s marina onboard an original World War II Royal Navy gun boat and an RAF high-speed rescue launch as a Grace Spitfire flies above them.
All At Sea, saw Dawn and Nick make the journey from Cornwall to Kent by sea in a variety of different vessels, ranging from a 1930’s motor torpedo boat to a pirate ship. After opening the show they will talk about their experiences at sea and take part in a Q & A session.
Set on one of Europe’s largest purpose built marinas, the PSP Southampton Boat Show has over 1000 boats and hundreds of exhibitors on site over 10 days.
This year’s highlights include Fairline’s new Squadron 41, the Princess V52 and the Beneteau Fyler GT 38, check out our Southampton city guide to get the low-down on the best boats, B&Bs and bevvies on offer.
