Boat owners are being encouraged to join thousands of visitors expected to flock to Open Days at the RNLI Headquarters at Poole this weekend, 5-6 September. Live sea survival, rescue, and lifeboat demonstrations will be carried out on the water and in the sea survival pool, and visitors will also get the chance to see the new official RNLI memorial sculpture.
More than 12,000 people attended the last Open Day in 2007. “There will be plenty see and do over the weekend, covering all aspects of the charity”, said Linda Vatcher, RNLI National Exhibitions and Events Manager.
Gates will open at 10 am each day and admission will cost £2 per adult, children under five free.
