Even at the best of times, launch and recovery is never straightforward, so it makes sense to consider the conditions before you attempt it. Try to avoid any exposed areas, consider wind strength and direction and it is useful to have a stable pontoon to work from, too.
None of these things happen here.
We are guessing that, if they ever got the boat on the trailer it might have exceeded the maximum load – with 10 tonnes of seawater onboard.
