Zapcat fleet endorse Barry as top venue
Bluesheets Racing I once again came out on top as rounds nine and ten of the Zapcat National Championship were contested at Barry Island over the weekend.
Having taken the win in round nine on Saturday, the crew of Bluesheets were set to lose out to Gloucestershire-based BladeRun the following day, only to be denied the chance 200 metres from the chequered flag when Delta Jets flipped over.
The race restarted with Bluesheets taking full advantage to record yet another Grand Prix victory.
There was good news for local fans as Westgate Buildings came out on top of the second division with two podium finishes, including a win in round ten.
Event director Martin Jupp says: “We’ve had another fantastic weekend in Barry and our thanks go to the Vale of Glamorgan Council once again for all their support in making our Barry Island Grand Prix the stand out meeting it’s become.”
The new Zapcat Evo was also on show to encourage new racers for next season. Potential competitors can get involved in Zapcat Racing for under £10,000, making it one of the most accessible motorsports worldwide.
