Fairline Boats has launched an Apprentice of the Year award, to recognise the best candidates from its thriving new scheme for budding young builders and designers.
The winner for 2005, who will be presented his award at the London Boat Show, is Robert Di Rienzo, currently studying the BMF NVQ 1 in Boat Production and Services.
Fairline is looking for further youngsters to take on the baton and train at its factory and on day-release at Tresham college in Corby, Northamptonshire.
Di Rienzo was selected from 25 apprentices who are studying towards NVQs as part of the scheme.
Fairline CEO Derek Carter said: “The success of the programme has been remarkable. The calibre of apprentices has been astounding and we are delighted to be able to present this award to Robert in recognition of his hard work and dedication to both the theoretical and practical aspects of the course.
“At Fairline we are committed to developing our young employees’ skills, many of whom will become the Master Builders of our future.”
