An unusually-named RNLI vessel came to the aid of a broken-down speedboat
Skegness RNLI inshore lifeboat Peterborough Beer Festival IV was called to assist a small speedboat with four people on board over the weekend.
The speedboat, Red Lighting,
had suffered power failure approximately one mile off the Lincolnshire
coast and was unable to return to the beach where they had launched.
The lifeboat launched just before 5pm and transferred crew member Craig Hopkins to Red Lighting when they came alongside a few minutes later.
Once the tow was rigged the lifeboat proceeded to tow the casualty back to
the beach near South Parade Boat Compound, where both boats were
recovered onto their trailers.
The lifeboat was back on station, refuelled and washed down by 6pm.
