Renowned opera singer and serial yacht owner Andrea Bocelli has taken delivery of his largest boat yet, an 86ft Cantiere delle Marche called Stella del Nord
Italian yard Cantiere delle Marche has revealed that its latest client is none other than the world-famous opera singer Andrea Bocelli, who recently upgraded to a Darwin 86 yacht.
His new steel-hulled boat, named Stella del Nord, was on the market for less than a month before Bocelli snapped it up via the Italian brokerage house Corte.
Built in 2015, Stella del Nord is the fourth hull in Cantiere delle Marche’s Darwin 86 series. She represents a chance for Bocelli enjoy long-distance expeditions, with a maximum cruising range of 6,700 nautical miles when cruising at 8.5 knots.
He has previously owned several motor yachts including a Gamma 20 called Libertas, which was customised to feature one-level decks – a must for the singer, who has been blind since the age of 12.
Stella del Nord has already been put to good use, as Bocelli was on board for her delivery cruise from Lavagna to Naples, where he performed at his latest concert.
The singer has a packed touring schedule next month including dates in Russia, the USA and Lebanon, but he will surely be looking forward to some time off in July to enjoy his new yacht.
