Possible handling problems along route forces organisers to reduce fleet size
The decision has been made to reduce the number of teams entering the 2013 Cowes to Monte-Carlo Powerboat Grand Prix from 55 to 50.
Response from various marinas along the route was that finding space for 55 contenders could prove a problem.
But handling, organising and re-fuelling up to 50 powerboats in one afternoon will still be a major challenge as proved the case with the Round Britain in 2008.
Any team not able to register and submit their non-refundable entry fee deposit will now be placed on the reserve listing.
