A fire broke out on a boat moored on the Thames in the early hours of this morning, destroying it and damaging two other boats either side of it
Crews from Marlow, Beaconsfield and High Wycombe were called to the scene of a boat fire at Harleyford Estate in Marlow just after 4am this morning.
The fire had broken out on a 14ft boat moored between two 40ft boats.
Watch manager Richard Boast from Marlow Fire Station said, “The fire destroyed the boat, but we were able to limit the damage to the two boats it was moored next to.
“Had it not been caught so soon it could have caused considerable damage to these boats.”
Thames Valley Police and Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service are investigating the cause of the fire after a resident reported hearing an explosion.
