U2’s Bono – Cyan
Built by Codecasa, U2’s frontman’s motor yacht Cyan measures 48.70m in length and was built in 1997. Bono purchased it in 2008 and made a few changes to it.
The superyacht sleeps 12 guests in six cabins and boasts a baby grand piano, gym, outdoor cinema, a jacuzzi and plenty of toys.
Steven Spielberg – Seven Seas
Custom built by Oceanco and designed by Nuvolari & Lenard, director Steven Spielberg’s superyacht measures 89m and boasts an infinity pool, helipad, spa and massage room, gym and of course a cinema room. Seven Seas sleeps up to 12 guests and 23 crew and the owner’s room enjoys a private jacuzzi and study.
Nicolas Cage – Lady Sandals
Now belonging to Gordon Butch Stewart owner of Sandals/Beaches Resorts, Lady Sandals was once actor Nicolas Cage’s superyacht. The 42m yacht is said to have cost the star £5m, who had to sell it after running into financial difficulties.
Steve Jobs – Venus
Built by Feadship and designed by Philip Starck’s studio Ubik, Apple’s Steve Jobs’ 79m superyacht Venus cost more than €100M.
The yacht boasts a master’s suite, six guest cabins and 14 crew cabins.
Jobs sadly never saw the yacht, as it wasn’t delivered until 2012, a year after his death.
The superyacht is still owned by the Jobs family.
Sean Combs – Maraya
The 54m motor yacht owned by Sean Combs, also known as Puff Daddy and P. Diddy, was built by CRN and cost $65 million. The rapper and mogul is accustomed to a luxurious lifestyle and his yacht has everything for entertainment at sea including a nightclub with bar – of course – and giant screen. Maraya sleeps 12 guests and the master suite boasts a private balcony which can be lowered when the yacht is anchored.
Nicole Kidman – Hokulani
Oscar winning actress Nicole Kidman owns a Sunseeker Manhattan 74 called Hokulani.
Hokulani means ‘heavenly star’, which is one of Kidman’s names. Her parents choose an Hawaiian moniker in honour of the actress’s birthplace, Honolulu.
The 22.55m motor yacht cost £2.1m, is split over three levels and boasts an owner’s room and five guest suites, captain’s cabin and quarters for 8 crew, plus an entertainment room and several water toys. The interior was designed by Nuvolari & Lenard.
Dolce & Gabbana – Regina d’Italia
Built by Codecasa, the Italian designers’ motor yacht is 51m long and reaches a speed of 17.5 knots. Its aluminium exterior is rather minimal but its interior mirrors the duo’s fashion vision, with opulent and baroque furnishing. Regina d’ Italia (Queen of Italy) offers a master’s suite, five guest cabins, one captain cabin and four cabins for crew members.
Andrey Melnichenko – Motor Yacht A
Designed by Philip Starck and built by Blohm and Voss, 119m Motor Yacht A cost a whopping $300 million and took four years to complete. It’s one of the biggest motor yachts in the world and belongs to Russian industrialist Andrey Melnichenko.
Motor Yacht A sleeps 14 guests and 42 crew. The plush yacht has all that the oligarch can desire, including three spa pools, helipad, underwater lights, jacuzzi, tender garage and entertainment rooms. Andrey Melnichenko also owns the famous Sailing Yacht A, also designed by Starck.
David Geffen – Rising Sun
Built by Lürssen Yachts in 2004, music and media mogul David Geffen’s 138m, $200m yacht is pure luxury at sea. Rising Sun sleeps 16 guests and 45 crew members.
Previously owned by Oracle CEO Larry Ellison, who sold it because he thought it was too big, Rising Sun has probably seen more celebrity guests than any other yacht as Geffen, co-creator of Geffen Records and DreamWorks is one of the most connected people in the entertainment industry. Former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle, Tom Hanks, Mariah Carey, Leonardo DiCaprio and Oprah Winfrey are just some of the stars who’ve enjoyed Geffen’s hospitality.
