The Liberation Day celebrations are in full swing
The Liberation Day celebrations are in full swing with the Jackson tribute filling the marina with the sounds of all the classic hits. In the adjacent tent there is a 1945 tribute act, offering something for everyone.
The classic car parade was followed by boats of the Power Boat Association being towed by cars along the waterfront. Later on they will be racing out on the water.
There is still a lot to come today, which will be finished off with fireworks at 10pm tonight.
The celebrations really are foreign to us participants from the mainland. The entire island is embracing their day, which clearly is meaningful to everyone here.
