Rain was a feature of today but crews had a group dinner in the evening to look forward to
Heavy rain woke crews this morning but there was no need to get up just yet as it was a rest day.
The rain continued into the day so some plans to explore Jersey were scuppered. Ashore, the pavements were awash with water but everyone made the most of it, donning their foul weather gear and venturing into St Helier high street.
Cruise leader Neale has been liaising with Terry and Graham aboard Crescendo II throughout the day and we can now report after a very miserable passage that they are now safely in St Helier Marina and reunited with the fleet. A round of applause went up as they came in alongside.
For the MBM team, there was the usual jobs’ list to tend to, but there was also a chance to unveil and test out the latest member of the MBM control fleet, a new Ribeye TL240 RIB with Yamaha 4hp.
When the rain finally ceased in the late afternoon, the team took turns to potter around the small basin in the baby RIB, nicknamed TT Time Flies. Click here for your chance to win a TL240, worth £1380.
At 7.30pm a group meal had been arranged at the St Helier Yacht Club. The club had kindly arranged a vin d’honneur and crews were greeted by the commodore and were handed a glass of wine on arrival. It was a great chance to mingle and share stories from passages so far. Many thanks to the committee, chef Matthew and his team for their hospitality, everyone had a fantastic evening.
